Urban Buro has developed a project for the inclusivity of a military hospital in Odesa
We have developed a concept for the modernisation of the Odessa Military Hospital, focused on creating a comfortable, accessible and humane environment for military personnel undergoing treatment and rehabilitation. The hospital space should be easy to navigate and logically organised. We have already presented our approach to local and regional authorities with a request to consider our proposal and implement it in the near future. We offer simple solutions that can deliver real, tangible results in a short period of time.

A hospital for everyone: how inclusive design is changing medicine in Odessa
A conversation between Volodymyr Savchenko, Stepan Nosal, and Tetiana Kosenko in the project ‘Access Code.’
INCLUSIVITY IS NOT JUST ABOUT ACCESSIBILITY
It is about respect for everyone who undergoes treatment, rehabilitation or works in a hospital. It is about a dignified environment for the military personnel who defend our country. We believe that an inclusive hospital is the new norm, and we are ready to implement it in partnership with the local community.
BROKEN PAVEMENTS
It complicates the movement of visitors and hospital patients. It is especially dangerous when movement occurs during treatment from building to building.
LACK OF PATHWAYS
Makes it impossible to move around the territory and may have negative consequences for hospital visitors.
RAISED PATHWAYS
On the hospital grounds makes it impossible for people in wheelchairs to move around, which makes the area unsuitable for their movement
